A Long Thursday

David had the privilege of spending the day with his little girl, so the day started earlier for me than usual. Thinking about all that was left to clean and paint, the list making in my head and the deadline looming was too overwhelming to sleep in another hour.

I started with picking up the yard. This was not on my list, but was unavoidable when apparently, the neighbors dug through the bags of trash and garbage for treasures. I’m not sure what they found, I hope it was special to them, because it was not fun for me. Yuck. Then the painting of the living room floor began…I used two gallons of Kilz in the two days of painting, three giant jars of Clorox wipes and multiple spray bottles of homemade bleach cleaner. The new dining room floor, the paint in the living room and the scrubbing I started in the kitchen made quite the difference. The five hours of work I was able to get in before needing to evacuate the premises for the day were extremely productive.

The stove, floors and walls were scrubbed with ammonia…at a point, that was all I smelled so before going to wait tables, I went for a shower and an amazing nap with my partner in crime.
