After a week, the Kilz and Zinsser clear coat were peeling up in areas, the smell had started to return and my irritation with this floor reached its maximum…I did a little more research and sent the boy child to grab me new paint. $46 later…we had Zinsser BIN in our possession and I started to repaint the living room floor. The AWE at the coverage, the relief at the odor control and the happiness at the floor no longer sticking to my feet made that sixth coat (seventh in some spots) so worth it. It’s been easier to find the trouble spots and the floors are ready for FLOORING.
Just a reminder that the following pictures while gross af, are AFTER two coats of KILZ animal odor and stain control primer and three coats of Zinsser clear animal odor and stain control primer. I can not tell you how long the tenants let their animals destroy this floor, but the damage was done through carpet and padding…ruining hardwood floors original to this home. Doors, trim and flooring ruined by irresponsiblity.
